Ground Crew

Introduction

This job that many people want to do and this job looks easy, but its acceptance rate is no high. As Mandarin Airlines, 2,838 people take an exam for ground crew, but the airline only recruits 30 people. Its acceptance rate is 1.06%. And China Airlines is also the same. It attracts 8000 people to test, but only employ 100 people and its acceptance rate is 1.2%. And this acceptance rate you should know you must stronger, outstanding than others. Otherwise, you couldn’t be employed by this job. Then, the ground crew has many different parts in it. They have IC, KP, LL, KL, CARGO…and so on, and when you enter this job that you might be assigned every department except CARGO. However, this job looks easy, and its Daily routine looks regular. In fact, this job is not relaxed and every ground crew that their biological clock has been reversed. And ground crew’s basic salary is thirsty five thousand to fifty thousand. Ground crew can divide two works. Then is about a counter that has different works to do. As Briefing, CLOSER, Check-in agent, EDITING, GD組員名單製作 and airport tax, those are people in counter needs to do. Moreover, one scheduled fight needs Controller/Coordinator, Check-in agent, Closer, BG and CQI to complete this job together. And another is about to board a plane. They are asked by DNA, and it means Departure and Arrival. They help some problems from plane or passengers who prepare to aboard plane.

1.     Job description

This job should help customers to solve their air ticket problems or their passport problems. In fact, they should deal with customers’ all problems, because they face people in front of airlines. When people’s passport can’t pass, they will tell people how to solve and help them to operate. And also help people to check in, check their airplane time.

However, the ground crew will confirm every customer’s visa and also check the plane seat, food for customers. And check if customers’ luggage overweight or not. Then, provide customers to buy the air tickets on the spot. They check customers’ luggage whether customers bring contraband or not.

In the counter work first is closer, the ground crew who is trained by the company will do this. And closer will be in charge of a group of tour’s counter. Second, is the check-in agent. In this part, you should help original customers to check in, luggage check. At this original customers mean that you don’t have a tour guide. The third is editing. This part you should edit the evening plane’s information today and tomorrow morning. Check if the special customers or not, and check special food’s information-SPML. Last is GD make crew members. This part is night shift’s ground crew usually do. They will make their crew member’s list of name tomorrow. And hey that information in computer and print out papers.

2.     Advantages of being ground crew

First advantages are air ticket discount that discount limit Direct Blood Relative, herself or himself and their spouse. But different airlines have different welfare. Some airline will provide some free air tickets in a year. And those free air tickets wouldn’t pay free, you should pay the airport tax. As you want to fly to Japan, one person should pay 12000, and you have 4 people in your family. You should pay 48000 originally, but using a discount that you can save 12000.

Second, you have regular and stable time on work, unlike flight attendant. And their arrange shifts is three months of one season. So you can arrange your vacation earlier. Then, also you can choose your work time. If you like to work in the morning, you can choose a morning shift. Lunch shift and night shift you can choose by your favorite. However, you have a stable salary as a civil servant.

Last, you can work regularly. Example, your shift is 8 to 4 o’clock. You can leave when the time is at 4 o’clock. You won’t afraid that your work wouldn’t finish. Then, I think this is also important, you can learn how to face customers and learn some life’s reason when you meet many people in your work.

3.     Disadvantages of being ground crew

You should cooperate work shift, although if you stay this airline for a long time that you can choose. But usually, you should work night shift one or two times a month. And night shift time like 2230 to 630. So you should try to adapt yourself. Then, your weekend, new year’s holiday, festival and typhoon holiday that you wouldn’t want to have a vacation. You should spend on work and need to sacrifice time with your friends, family…soon. Only if you ask others who willing to change their shift to you and another way that you can arrange your work shift well.

4.     Long-term career development

This job long-term development is no development because the ground crew this job is stable. You can’t change somethings suddenly, and you just think about how to make our customers feel to choose our airlines is good. Then, you can’t as a coffee shop that you can have many different branches in the market. Since airlines are those airlines, you wouldn’t establish a new airline by yourself. So don’t have long term career development sounds no bad.

5.     Who suits this job?

Everyone can try this job if only have determination. Because this job should do many things and have more advantages, disadvantages if you want to have many experiences you can choose this job. So, I think someone who has determination, wanting to service people and have a passion that suit this job.

6.     How to become ground crew

You should learn English well that you can communicate with foreigners and help them to solve those problems. And then, you should be trained by the airline’s course when you pass that you can become a ground crew. And my interviewee told me that if only you have a heart that you can become a fabulous ground crew.

And become ground crew you should be willing to do many things and also learn many things. Last but not least, you should have to bear hardship and work hard mind.

Interviewee: My cousin who work in Taoyuan airport

Turning point(s) of my life: what would happen if I made a different choice

     When I was a senior class of kindergarten child, my mind and my temper were really bad. And I bullied other children as pinching their arm or hitting them. At that time, because I really liked to bully others, teachers asked me to go to the junior class of kindergarten. In my unforgettable memory, I remembered that I also pinched my cousin on the school bus, then I was being told that I can’t take the school bus by teachers. However, I went to elementary, my mind was still immature. I would say something to bad to the teacher. And I would follow a group of people to play in the school when the class kept going. So I found that action was not good until I met my junior high school teacher.

     I thought that time was turning points of my life, many concepts were taught by her. She didn’t only teach me my schoolwork and also taught me some life principles. I really thanked her, since she made me learn many and saw me as her daughter. I thought if I wouldn’t meet her and I didn’t choose this school to study, and I felt that I might be very rebellious. Moreover, if I would choose other schools, I felt that I would be a bad guy in the school. So, I thought this turning points of my life was important. If I didn’t have this time, I couldn’t think where I am doing now. To sum up, my junior high school teacher was really important I thanked and loved her.

If you are to die tomorrow, and only one word will appear in your tomb, what is the word?

     If I am to die tomorrow, I will stay “Smile” this word in my tomb. Because I think I die tomorrow, the god has its meaning. I won’t afraid to face it, although I still have a lot to do. But I think is enough, I should be positive. And also give my offspring some positive energy. I know someone who loves me and I love will very sad, but I want to use this word to make them cheer up. In my opinion, the optimistic mood is very important to everyone’s life. Then, I will hope everyone come to see me that will wear a smile on their face. I don’t want they feel out of pity since I feel they are happy to meet me.

     If I am to die tomorrow, I will do many things that I haven’t done yet. As wear, the bikini to sea, go vacation without any worry, help homeless…and so on. I will use the remaining time to do everything I want to do, and also I will spend more time companying to my family, because I know I am to die. But I won’t tell them this true, I afraid to see other’s sad. After I die, I hope they can understand the word in my tomb. However, why I don’t choose the negative word. In my views, I am to die, I complain too much that won’t any helpful. Then, I won’t afraid to die, I just afraid I don’t do what I want. To sum up, I hope everyone will have a smile when he or she is to die tomorrow.

A special trip

    At 2/28 a four holiday, I decided to go out to Taichung in three days with my boyfriend. And we chose a special way to go, we rode his scooter. Why we chose to ride the scooter. First, we thought that we wouldn’t buy the ticket to Taichung. Second, arrive there that we couldn’t rent the scooter. However, this small and special trip would start. Before we started out, he planned how to go. Then, we brought our luggage and take on our coats and go.

     In the road, we met many motorcycles that their speed was very fast. And we rode on the mountain, so I saw some fabulous views. This road is too long, so we said we just try this time. When we rode, beside us are people who rode the motorcycles that they suddenly made a gesture of thumbs up. We didn’t know why was its meaning, but we guess that means we were very impressive!

     Three hours ago, we arrived in Taichung. We couldn’t believe we did it and I thanked him because he gave me a ride there. Then, we started our travel itinerary. Due to going to many places, I just introduced what places we visited and we also ate much wonderful food.

Last, this trip is fun, because I went to many places and ate many things. And if I had the chance, I will go to Taichung one time. 

Introduce a local dish to foreign visitors (what and why)

      I want to introduce Braised pork rice to foreign visitors because I think this local food can represent Taiwan. Braised pork rice is made up of meat stewing in soy sauce and spices, stewed soy sauce egg, fried shallots, and some vegetables. Those ingredients are traditional Taiwan food, and meat marinates put on the hot rice which texture of food is very delicious.      However, why I chose this dish, because when we come up with Taiwan’s local food that we will say Braised pork rice is classical. And this food is unlike steaky tofu, blood migao that foreign visitors will afraid of smell or appearance. Then, they can feel Taiwan’s favor, since in other countries that have nobody to do or sell this. So I think this is a special dish and will make foreign visitors love.

     Last, Braised pork rice is Taiwan characteristic dish. And I have eaten this dish for 10 years, I really miss my grandmother’s Braised pork rice. Since she will prepare this dish when we come back home. Everyone likes to eat Braised pork rice from my grandmother due to much Taiwanese favor. If some foreign visitors ask me to introduce, I will take them to visit my grandmother and let them eat the local dish in Taiwan, I promise they will love this dish very much. To sum up, I think Taiwan’s local dishes have many types, but I would introduce them the best one everyone must eat is Braised pork rice. 

If I were the teacher (what would you do if you were a teacher of a certain course that you took before)

     If I were the teacher, I would teach them some senses about treating others and yourself. Because I think this is the most important thing for our life, and this notion should be taught from childhood. Nowadays, many events about bullying others and then make someone choose to suicide. So we teach them that “ What you don’t want done to yourself, don’t do to others. And if we saw the bullying events, we should tell to the teacher and give a helping hand.

    When I was a junior high school student, my best friend and I was bullied by a group of people. And the reinforcer asked many people together, then they used some unpleasant words as a bitch to abuse us when they saw us, moreover asked them to stay away from us. I once had to hurt myself and themselves, but my teacher told me more and more. However, I think this event is the bad memories in my mind forever.
     Consequently, I will use our experience to let every student know that bullying others isn’t a good thing because retribution will come back to yourself. Last, I would teach them don’t hurt yourself in order to love. If someone loves you, he or she won’t you have a little hurt, I think. Thus, any boys and girls don’t be silly to choose fallacious decision to make everyone who loves you be sad. I think everyone loves others before should love yourself. 
     Finally, why I choose to teach those since I think those are important and useful in our life. And I won’t any tragedy to happen, I hope every student can learn good concepts to treat others. 

My imaginations about robots and the future world

     First, my imagination about the future world is many things will be more advanced and the things will become computerized. And our country looks state-of-the-art as a video that I show in the future. However, we will be good at using solar energy I think, and anyone has their own special wearable devices. As you press your arm that you can choose many things you want to do. Then, everything you think about will be controlled by high tech. So in the future, I think our society will become more convenient than now.

     Second, I think robots finally can’t be like human, robots still robots. Why I say that because robots can’t have much emotion and you can’t feel any temperature. They just machines, although they maybe be smart than human, some of the creativity they don’t have. In the future, I think some jobs will be replaced by robots as coffee maker, guide…and so on. Above those jobs, I see the robots do personally, and I think they won’t lose people.

     Last, many things in the future aren’t uncertain and we don’t know what happens in the future, so we just can imagine. Then, we can do our ability best, and we can’t be washed out by robots, society and the whole world. To sum up, hope the future world and robots will be advanced. 

When I become a mother/father (what kind of a parent I will be)

     What kind of a parent I will be? I haven’t thought this before, because I think this thing is so far for me to worry. But I think this seriously, I hope I can become a parent that can be a friend with my children. Because I think friends are important in every child growing phrase, and friends can be the closest to my children. Then, I will try to learn many new things in their era, since I want to understand what they do in their ages. So I want to be a mother that my children will very love me, and my children’s friends also envy them. Then, I hope I can have two children in the future, I think only one child that he or she will be lonely.

     Actually, I think to talk more and more what kind of a parent I will be that is not the most significant on account of I should have a stable income and my husband also have enough money. That we will consider to be parents, I don’t want my children to have a terrible environment in the future. And I want to be as my parents, they gives me a fabulous environment, very thank for them. To sum up, I hope everyone a have child before, should consider if you have this ability or not, otherwise, you will let your child feel fatiguing.

Introduction:  The situation in YZU product/service.

We think in our school there are not so many services, only have a student restaurant and bookstore. It is very inconvenient for everyone. We hope our school can add more facilities for us to use. When I was a freshman, I think our school’s liver function is not very good, not so much restaurant select for us to choose, and near the school not so much thing like Chung Yuan Christian University. Outside the school is a night market, this point is let me feel very envious. Also, I think our school is very empty, only have teaching building, library, dorm, stadium, and playground. So, we want to recommend a school to add more facility for us to use. And we think pharmacy is a very good choice. Some students maybe suddenly uncomfortable, but there is no place for them to buy medicine, they need to go outside to see the doctor or buy medicine it is very inconvenience. Although We have medical care room, it not opens at any time also not open on weekends. Or sometimes need to buy some daily supplies, but Family was closed after 11PM. So, if we have Pharmacy it is more convenient for us to buy medicine or daily supplies.

What is the Pharmacy. 

Pharmacists are medication experts who use their detailed knowledge of medicines to help patients get well. The methods they use vary from one practice setting to the next, but general pharmacist responsibilities include:

●          Dispensing medications, assuring the safety and appropriateness of the prescribed therapy

●          Monitoring patient health and progress to achieve the best medication results

●          Partnering with consumers and patients to provide education and advice on the use of prescription and over-the-counter medications

●          Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other members of the health care team to provide expertise on drug decisions and improve patient outcomes

●          Providing knowledge about the composition of drugs based upon their chemical, biological, and physical properties, as well as their manufacture and use

●          Safeguarding drug purity and strength

These are the definition on the website. For us, the pharmacy is very important in our life. We buy our daily supplies from the pharmacy when we need them. Also, when we feel uncomfortable or the clinic is not open, we can buy the medicine from the pharmacy. It is very convenience, also have a pharmacist so we can assure to buy the medicine in the pharmacy. And we divided pharmacy into two types. The first type is a store which only sale medicine or healthy food and have a pharmacist, they can give us some professional advice to buy medicine. The second type is a store that has sale cosmetics, medicine, daily supplies also have pharmacist just like Watson. And Pharmacy’s definition is depending on everyone’s idea.  In Taiwan, Pharmacy is more like the second type. Its sale medicine, cosmetics, and daily supplies. I very like this type of pharmacy, we can buy everything we want not only the medicine in this type of pharmacy.

Who will use it and why.

We think everyone will come to Pharmacy because we sell many things that people will need. As girls, we sell cosmetics and care products, because we think some girls need to make up. And like others, we sell drugs, a snack from different countries, daily necessities, stationery, books...and so on. So, everyone will use the products that we sell, we sell products that according to everyone. As drugs, we sell to people who suddenly catch a bad cold and he or she can’t go outside to buy. And snacks from different countries that we sell for students from different countries. Because any student must miss their local food, snack in their hometown, we sell their hometown’s local food to attract them. But we think some countries’ snacks are popular, as Japan and Korean and southeast Asia that many people born in Taiwan are loved them. Then, daily necessities are every student in the dormitory will need, and they can buy their needs in the school. However, stationeries, any students and teacher will need them, because their pens’ ink will be used up one day. Also, the correction fluid will be used up, and eraser will disappear. So, this time they will go to our store and search their need. Books, some books’ lover will come to our store to buy because we have second-hand books and the newest books. Some science and technology’s products, because our school is famous for science and engineering as academic subjects. So they always use the computer to do their homework or writing their formula, and they need some tool to do their robot or something. Deli food, I think this everyone will come to buy since many people won’t go outside due to lazy, and they don’t want to eat microwave food. So, this is convenient and warm, we have many different foods and provide people to order what they want to eat. And we persevere with doing that food immediately.

 Other potential services for future development. 

In the future, we want to sell the delicatessen as a hot dog, tea egg, beef noodle. And sell some delicious desserts, cake, cookies, brand. Then, we hope YZU students can feel warm and can rest so we will decorate one place as cafe room. A student can chat, eat something, discuss their homework. However, we know some people don’t want to walk into the school so we will provide some bike that provides students to rent. Because we think our school’s place is a little bit, we hope we can set some place to put the rent station, and people can ride them in the Yuan Ze University. Actually, our bike station will set many places and make students use inconvenience. We will provide the delivery because we think many people will busy to their homework or some people are too lazy to go out to buy anything, then this time we will be very considerate to deliver them anything they want or need.  And we will sell snacks from different countries because we hope alien students at Yuan Ze University eat them can feel that they go back to their hometown. Then, we will sell stationeries, books, some science and technology’s products, and something that people need to. Afterward, we will sell some pets in the future, because we think many people love animals like dogs, cats, birds…and so on. But we know dormitory can’t allow having pets, then we think a special way that is we are going to build a building as a dormitory. And people love pets can raise their pets in this building and live at the same time. We also open the pets’ hospital in the pet store that some people have the pets, they can bring them here to take care of their health.

Conclusion: Summary the main points of the report/recommendation key points. 

We think the facilities in Yuan Ze University are not enough for each student to use, so we want to recommend a school to add more useful facilities in YZU. We want to open the pharmacy that sells various things which the people can think about or can’t image. And we will set the website that our customers can suggest our store some opinions on the website or tell us what they need. It is more efficient for us to service each customer and know everyone’s demand. And the reason we want to open a pharmacy in YZU is that we think to go outside to buy these things is too tired and bother. We will set pharmacy in YZU that everyone in YZU does not need to go outside and they can buy everything they want and they need. Maybe we can cooperate with some chained store, and the students in YZU can also enjoy the discount. And we hope everyone comes to our store can feel very comfortable and convenient because we sell the main things that are from everyone. We will change what we sell that is basic on customers, so hoping one day that will open the store having various things. To sum up, we think we can do this very well to service with everyone.
